Home Information Packs (HIPS)

Since December 14th 2007, every home put on the market needs a Home Information Pack. The Pack must include an Energy Performance Certificate giving detailed information about the energy efficiency of your home.

Also required are documents such as a sale statement, searches and evidence of title, as well as documentation and certification concerning refurbishments. These include:
  • FENSA certification for replacement windows
  • IEE certification to Part P of the Building Regulations for electrical work
  • Local Authority Building Control (LABC) approval for regulated building works, including roofing. For further information, visit www.labc.org.uk
If this documentation is not available, it can result in problems selling your property, buyers potentially offering lower prices and possible substantial delays in exchange and completion of contracts
Needless to say, your local Roof Assured Registered installer will take care of LABC approval and will provide the relevant certification on completion of the project.
